DIY Cookbook: stalk your friend's Pinterest boards!

I wanted to do something nice for my friend who enjoys cooking, so I stalked her Pinterest. She had pinned a DIY cookbook and some recipes. This was a no-brainer; make her a cookbook and print out the recipes she pinned :)!

Supplies Used:
3ring Binder with clear cover
Printer/paper
and lots of clear page protectors!
Page dividers
Scrapbook paper
Stickers

This is what the cover ended up looking like with the Family's last name as the heading

In the back I added a cupcake box, and a Veggie cooking cheat sheet
Closer look of what I added to the inside pockets

Inside I added a card, recipe cards, a weekly meal planning organizer and other  chef must have's

I printed one recipe for each section and placed it inside the page protectors

The back cover;  Scrapbook paper, then glued a Measurement Conversion Chart to it for quick reference.

Bad picture...but it reads "Get Cookin'"
Personally, I used 6 page dividers: Breakfast, Starters, Soup/Salad, Entrees, Sides/Sauces, and Sweets. When you make your own use as many or as little as you want. Here are all the printables I found online and used in the cookbook! Thank goodness for those people who already created cute printables so I didn't have to! Finally, print one recipe from each section (one breakfast, starter, entree, etc.) and put inside a page protector with some more empty page protectors behind it so they can add their own! I hope you or your friend enjoys the book and inspires some good home cookin'!

I didn't save the link for the "Made with Love" cards, but I'm sure they are on Pinterest somewhere!

Week 9ish..Doctor! Doctor!

So I was excited to hear back from a low-cost insurance program for pregnant women, where I can get everything I need for prenatal care for a low monthly cost and I talked to them a few days ago and I was denied because we make too much money! Of course they don't take into account our bills and mortgage payment, so now I am starting again at square one to try to find a program or low cost insurance. I am so anxious to see a doctor to be reassured and hear our baby's heartbeat, I am waiting until Monday to start calling around to hospitals and Neighborhood Families to see what types of payment plans they have for pregnant women without insurance. Note to self before we have our second baby- get health insurance situated before getting pregnant!

Today is my due date!

Today is the big day...well not really. I spent the day cleaning and watching T.V. expecting the labor to NOT start anytime today. I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and she said I am still not dilated and my cervix is long and tight. I will go on Monday to get a NST (Non-Stress Test) where they strap on the heartbeat monitor to my belly and monitor the heart rate, movement, and oxygen levels (I think). So then if all is well we will wait until November 10 to be induced. This means that Sydney could be born on 11/11/11! Exciting, but all that really matters is that she is born healthy and their are no complications. I haven't had any contractions yet, just a lot of Braxton Hicks (tightening but no cramping) and this usually goes away after a few minutes. So I am not sure she will be born on her own but we will just have to wait and see (she is kicking me as I type this lol). Her room is ready, car seat installed, and bags packed! All our friends and family are anxiously wai

Birthday surprise for Bruce...

I was dying to tell Bruce that I was pregnant, this is how I did it.
